D-League Rep Prep
Invitation-only program designed to support the development and readiness of players preparing to trial for a representative club, with the goal of competing in Victoria’s premier junior competition – the Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL).
Representative Basketball Explained
The Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL) is the premier representative basketball competition for junior athletes in Victoria, featuring the top players from across the state.
The competition offers age groups from Under 12s through to Under 20s, providing a structured pathway for junior development. VJBL teams typically train twice per week and compete in weekly games held on Friday evenings, running from November through to September each year.
Tryouts for representative teams are usually held in September, beginning at the end of Term 3 school holidays. Local VJBL clubs in our region include the Frankston Blues, Chelsea Gulls, Mornington Breakers, and Western Port Steelers.
Elite players who excel at the junior level can progress into senior representative teams, competing in state-level competitions such as Big V and the national NBL1 league.

Overview & Player Eligibility
The D-League Rep Prep Program is designed to prepare motivated young athletes for the next step in their basketball journey – representative basketball. With a focus on developing technical skills, game awareness, and high-performance habits, the program provides a structured and challenging environment to support players working towards VJBL-level competition.
Rep Prep is suited to experienced domestic players, typically within the U10 to U14 age groups, who demonstrate strong dedication to personal development and a willingness to thrive in a disciplined, hard-working environment. This program is ideal for those who intend to trial for a VJBL club in the near future and are committed to reaching the representative level.
