Summer Registration Information
MC Magic is offering places for for boys and girls across U8 to U16 age groups, competing in the local competition at Melbourne Central Basketball Association (MCBA)
Summer competitions comence October 2023, running through Term 4 & 1, excluding the Summer school holidays.
Available competition days:
- U8 Boys & Girls = Saturday
- U10 Boys & Girls = Saturday
- U12 Boys & Girls = Saturday
- U14 Boys & Girls = Saturday
- U16 Boys & Girls = Saturday
Training Days
As the club continues to expand, we will provide training squads with multiple courts. This provides a training environments appropriate to all players from beginners, intermediate and experienced level athletes.
The expected training days for Summer 2023/24 season are:
- U8 Boys & Girls = TBA
- U10 Boys & Girls = TBA
- U12 Boys & Girls = TBA
- U14 Boys & Boys = TBA
- U14 Girls =TBA
- U16 Boys & Girls = TBA
All sessions are expected to be at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre. Days and times remain indicative and subject to change until contracts are confirmed with facility management.
Player & Team Selections
Playing in the correct age group based on year of birth aligns with the club principles for long term player development and retention. Unless discussed and approved prior, all players will be placed into correct competition based on their age.
Players are allocated to teams and training squads in accordance with the club Player Development: Team & Squad Selection policy. The criteria for selection includes (but is not limited to) the following:
- Current Squad & Team
- Experience & Development
- Team / Squad Size & Composition
- Development & Playing Opportunities
- Top Age / Bottom Age Split

All new members must purchase:
- Training Singlet
- Playing Singlet
- Playing Shorts

Fees
Our single fee model covers team registration, match fees (inc. finals), court hire, social function, coaching and administration.
- Summer 2023/24 Fee = $450
All players must have an active Basketball Victoria Participant License ($29 annually for U18). This is automatically added if due.
